The Kyiv city military administration was quoted as saying that "two private houses in Darnytskyi district were damaged by the fragments of downed missiles."
Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned of possible power cuts, the Reuters news agency reported.
Meanwhile, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said officials were clarifying what had been hit and whether there were any casualties, according to Reuters.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said on the Telegram messaging service that 90 percent of the city was without electricity. He warned of possible "interruptions in water supply," Reuters reported.
Power cuts were also announced in the Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions in the south.
Presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said that Russia had fired more than 120 missiles at Ukraine on Thursday morning, Ukrainian state news agency Ukrinform reported.
