In the next few years, the line will be extended further east, toward the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, the Rzeczpospolita daily reported on Friday.
Ukraine’s existing wide Russian-gauge rail network has hampered the transport of people and goods to Poland amid the Russian invasion, the paper said on its website.
Due to a Russian blockade of Black Sea ports, Ukraine has been forced to export its goods, including grain, by other routes, the paper noted.
Monday is day 376 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
