A nurse at the same hospital also suffered injuries, and the fight for her life is ongoing, the head of Kherson's municipal administration, Roman Mrochko, wrote on Telegram.
Kherson Oblast's western part, including the city of Kherson, was retaken by Ukrainian troops in November 2022. However, the lands on the eastern side of the Dnipro River remain under Russian control.
Following the Ukrainian troops' withdrawal from Kherson, the Russian forces started shelling from artillery positions on the opposite side of the river, leading to civilian casualties. On May 3 this year, 23 people, including two children, were killed by Russian missiles, and 46 others were injured in Kherson.
Just a day before the hospital shelling, four civilians were killed in an artillery attack in the Kherson region.
