NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that the Ukrainian president had provided NATO defense ministers with details about the situation on the front - and the "urgent need" for additional air defense elements for Ukraine.
NATO ministers agreed to further support for Ukraine, including air defense. The bloc analyzed its resources and found that it had systems that it could transfer to Ukraine. "I expect new developments on this matter soon" - Jens Stoltenberg said.
The NATO chief added that the weapons transferred to Ukraine are used to destroy Russian offensive capabilities. "Therefore, support for Ukraine is not charity, but an investment in our security" - Jens Stoltenberg explained.
NATO countries that do not have air defense systems have agreed to provide financial means to Ukraine instead.
