The package includes additional ammunition, anti-tank weapons, and large quantities of missiles for the PATRIOT and NASAMS systems.

This marks the 60th tranche of U.S. military assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion. The aid package includes $150 million worth of equipment and ammunition from existing Pentagon stockpiles.

The U.S. will provide Ukrainian forces with HAWK air defense missiles, HIMARS ammunition, 155mm and 105mm artillery shells, and Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems.

"President Biden has made it clear: we will support Ukraine until it repels Russian aggression," said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre during a briefing. "It is becoming increasingly evident that the Russian offensive around Kharkiv has failed," she emphasized.

In addition to the equipment and ammunition from Pentagon stockpiles that will reach Ukraine in the coming weeks, the White House announced a significant order from American defense firms for a large quantity of interceptor missiles for the PATRIOT and NASAMS systems already provided to Ukraine. The value of this order is USD 2.2 billion.
