Russian casualty toll in Ukraine rises to 586,370: report

Around 586,370 Russian troops have been either killed or wounded in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February 2022, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 8,429 tanks, 16,323 armored combat vehicles and 16,451 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Wednesday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Tuesday, Ukrainian forces killed or wounded 1,230 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 1,138 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 910 air defense systems, 365 warplanes, 326 helicopters, 28 warships, and 13,212 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Wednesday is day 896 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
