"I'm ready to put British troops in Ukraine," UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer declared in an interview with The Telegraph, emphasizing that lasting peace in Ukraine is essential to preventing further Russian aggression.

He confirmed that Ukraine’s path to NATO membership is "irreversible" and urged European nations to increase their defense spending.

His remarks drew a response from a former British army chief, who warned that the UK’s military is too depleted to sustain a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.

While still a theoretical discussion, Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard did not rule out a similar approach to enforcing any future peace deal.

Peace talks have yet to begin, but signals from Washington suggest that Europe is expected to play a limited role. An emergency meeting of European leaders is set to take place in Paris today, with attendees including the heads of NATO and the European Commission, as well as the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and the UK.
