Britain's Financial Times newspaper reported that Washington’s decision could significantly impact Ukraine’s military capabilities on the battlefield.
Ukrainian state media outlet Suspilne reported via Telegram that intelligence sharing had not been entirely cut off and that some level of cooperation was still ongoing.
Aid suspension follows intelligence cutoff
The halt in intelligence-sharing comes a day after the United States suspended military aid and arms deliveries to Ukraine.
Until now, there had been no official confirmation that intelligence cooperation had also been terminated.
The move is part of a broader shift in US policy toward Ukraine under President Donald Trump, who has been openly critical of Kyiv’s approach to the war, the Reuters news agency reported.
Strategic consequences
The US intelligence-sharing program has been crucial for Ukraine’s military operations, providing Kyiv with real-time battlefield data, satellite imagery and details of Russian troop movements.
Analysts warn that the loss of this support could severely impact Ukraine’s ability to defend against Russian advances.
