Sirens sounded in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Poltava and Zhytomyr, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

In Sumy, a hospital building was damaged by drone strikes, though no injuries were reported.

Kyiv officials said nine residential buildings suffered damage and fires broke out in several areas.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia attacked overnight with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, four S-300 missiles, and 145 drones, of which 72 were shot down.

An additional 56 drones were “neutralized electronically.”

Ukrainian forces retaliated by sending drones toward Russian fuel depots and refineries, with independent media reporting a fire in the Krasnodar region’s oil transport facilities.

It followed an announcement by Kremlin-backed media suggesting Russia’s army would refrain from attacking Ukraine’s energy grid, a promise Kyiv's allies say Putin has broken.

Ukraine’s defense ministry said it had no immediate details on damage caused by the ballistic and S-300 missiles.

The overnight alarm lasted about six hours in Kyiv, where local authorities claim to have destroyed 19 of 45 incoming Russian drones.

Meanwhile, Russian officials said Ukrainian drones attacked the city of Kropotkin in the Krasnodar region, igniting a blaze at an oil terminal.

Ukraine has not confirmed or commented on the reported incident.
