Local officials confirmed that a solar power plant was among the facilities hit. Fires triggered by the strikes were quickly extinguished by units of the State Emergency Service. No injuries were reported, but the assaults forced hospitals and critical infrastructure in the region to switch to emergency power. Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy confirmed widespread electricity outages as repair crews rushed to restore service.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force, hundreds of Russian drones and missiles were detected across the country during the night. Ukrainian air defense units, including the Air Force, anti-air missile brigades, electronic warfare teams, UAV units, and mobile fire groups, shot down 139 Russian drones. However, 37 unmanned aircraft reached their targets, and debris from intercepted drones fell in at least two locations.
Meanwhile, Ukraine conducted its own nighttime strikes on Russian fuel infrastructure using drones and missiles. Reports emerged of damage in Volgograd and Russian-occupied Crimea.
In Volgograd, drone explosions damaged several residential buildings. According to Ukrainian sources, the destruction occurred after Russian air defenses attempted to shoot down incoming UAVs. The city’s airport was temporarily closed following the blasts.
