The move was made by Russia’s media regulator Roskomnadzor, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported on Monday.
The Russian-language website is part of Polish Radio’s External Service, also known as Radio Poland.
Andrzej Rybałt, the head of Radio Poland, said that Roskomnadzor had demanded the removal of articles detailing Russia’s casualties in Ukraine.
‘Putin’s men didn’t like the truth’
“Putin’s men didn’t like the truth that Radio Poland’s Russian section is reporting every day,” Rybałt said.
“They objected to reports about the number of casualties suffered by Putin’s army in Ukraine,” he added.
Radio Poland refuses to remove content
“Radio Poland has refused to comply with Roskomnadzor’s demands, deciding that they may represent a tacit provocation by the Russian government agency,” Polish Radio’s polskieradio.pl website said.
Rybałt said that Radio Poland’s Russian-language website would still be available in Ukraine and Belarus, adding that “Russian-language programming continues to be aired on medium wave,” the IAR agency reported.
Tuesday is day 62 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
