According to a statement by the US Department of Defense, the new security assistance package includes "additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 500 precision-guided 155mm artillery rounds," and "2,000 155mm rounds of Remote Anti-Armor Mine (RAAM) Systems."
Washington will also provide Kyiv with "more than 1,300 anti-armor systems; 125 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs); small arms and more than 2,750,000 rounds of small arms ammunition; and four satellite communications antennas," the Pentagon said.
The United States has now committed more than USD 18.5 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s invasion on February 24, according to officials.
"To meet Ukraine’s evolving battlefield requirements, the United States will continue to work with its Allies and partners to provide Ukraine with key capabilities," the Pentagon said in its statement.
