Russian military death toll in Ukraine surpasses 100,000: report

More than 100,000 Russian troops have been killed in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in late February, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

Russia has lost around 100,400 soldiers during its war in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Thursday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Wednesday alone, Ukrainian forces killed 660 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

The Russians have also lost 3,003 tanks, 5,981 armoured personnel vehicles and 1,978 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, ukrinform.net reported.

It said other Russian losses in Ukraine included 413 multiple launch rocket systems, 212 anti-aircraft warfare systems, 283 warplanes, 267 helicopters, 16 warships, and 1,693 unmanned aerial vehicles.

Thursday is day 302 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
