The latest figures were published by Ukraine’s General Staff on Saturday, the country’s state news agency Ukrinform reported.
On Friday alone, Russia lost 590 troops on the battlefields of Ukraine, bringing its total combat deaths to 237,180, according to officials in Kyiv.
Since the start of Moscow’s full-scale aggression, Ukrainian forces have also destroyed 4,102 Russian tanks, including five over the past day, 8,019 armoured combat vehicles (eleven in the last 24 hours) and 4,463 artillery systems (14 over the past day), Ukrinform reported.
Russia’s battlefield losses so far also include 315 aircraft, 3,807 operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (24 over the previous day) and 1,273 cruise missiles, Ukraine’s General Staff said on Facebook.
A top British military official said this month that "Russia has lost nearly half the combat effectiveness of its army" since invading Ukraine in February last year.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
Saturday is day 507 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
