Russia’s military death toll in Ukraine rises to 252,200: report

Russia has now lost 252,200 soldiers on the battlefields of Ukraine since Vladimir Putin launched his full-scale invasion in February 2022, the Ukrainian General Staff has said.

Ukraine’s military command provided the latest update via Facebook on Thursday morning, the Ukrainska Pravda website reported.

As of Thursday morning, Russia’s combat losses in Ukraine total 252,200  soldiers, including 580 killed over the past day, according to the Ukrainian General  Staff.

Russia’s invading forces have also lost 4,278 tanks, including 16 over the previous 24 hours, 8,303 armoured personnel vehicles, of which 13 over the past day, and 5,028 artillery systems, including 15 in the last 24 hours, according to officials in Kyiv. 

The full-scale invasion of Ukraine has also cost Russia 315 aircraft, 1,377 cruise missiles and 4,179 operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicles, four of which were lost in the last 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff said. 

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.

Thursday is day 533 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
