"During the one-on-one meeting as well as the delegation meeting, we talked a lot about the war in Ukraine and supporting Ukraine. The president and I stand united in our position that Ukraine should receive this support," announced Andrzej Duda.

Security in light of the upcoming NATO summit in Washington and support for Ukraine are the primary subjects of bilateral discussion between Polish and Slovak presidents.

"We also talked about other political formats - the heavier, more formal ones - cooperation within the Visegrad Group, the Bucharest Nine, and the Three Seas Initiative, and of course, cooperation within the European Union and NATO," explained Duda.

"In a few days, we will be together with the Slovak president at the NATO anniversary summit in Washington," added the Polish president.

Peter Pellegrini accepted the invitation to the annual meeting of 16 European leaders in the Portuguese town of Arraiolos. The group, named after this place, was established in 2003. Political leaders belonging to this body discuss the current situation concerning the Union and issues related to its further development.

"We agreed with Andrzej Duda that our manifold ties cover practically all areas of possible cooperation. Our compatriot and expat communities on both sides of the border greatly contribute to our good relations and bolster our bond," wrote president Pellegrini on X.com.
