The Ukrainian air force said Russian forces also used nine missiles in the attack, state news agency Ukrinform reported.
"In the early hours of September 11, the Ukrainian Air Force's radio engineering troops detected and tracked 34 Russian aerial targets," the Ukrainian air force said in a statement on the Telegram messaging app, as cited by Ukrinform.
The statement added that Russia targeted Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile, two S-300 air defence missiles, six Kh-31P anti-radar missiles, and 25 Shahed strike drones, according to Ukrinform.
On Tuesday, Ukraine targeted Russia in a major drone attack, damaging dozens of buildings in the Moscow region and forcing around 50 flights to be diverted from airports around the Russian capital, according to reports.
Russia said it had destroyed at least 20 Ukrainian attack drones over the Moscow region and 124 more over eight other regions, the Reuters news agency reported.
At least one person was killed near Moscow, Russian authorities said, according to Reuters.
Russia invaded Ukraine by land, air and sea on February 24, 2022, starting the largest military conflict in Europe since World War II.
Wednesday is day 931 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
