Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, stated in a post on Telegram, "This morning, around 08:30 a.m., the enemy launched a missile attack on Kyiv. Earlier, the Russian troops used Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from MiG-31K carriers. Air defense was active in the capital."

Preliminary reports confirm that all air targets were successfully destroyed, but debris fell in the Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kyiv. In Solomianskyi, debris damaged the roofs of a residential building and a supermarket, while in Holosiivskyi, it hit a car; in Shevchenkivskyi, debris fell in an open area.

There are currently no reports of casualties, and operational services are working to address the aftermath of the attack, according to the Ukrainian News Agency.

The Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that during the night of October 6-7, 2024, Russian forces launched an assault on Ukraine utilizing a range of missiles and attack drones.

Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepted two Kinzhal missiles and shot down 32 enemy drones across several regions, including Mykolaiv and Kharkiv. While some debris fell in frontline areas and one Kinzhal missile struck near Starokostiantyniv airfield, a total of 37 Russian drones were lost due to active electronic warfare.

Zelenskyy reports successful defense against shahed drones

President Zelenskyy confirmed yesterday via social media that Ukrainian air defense forces have destroyed a total of over 50 “Shahed” drones in the regions of Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, and Kharkiv.

Throughout this week, the enemy has launched around 20 missiles of various types, over 800 guided aerial bombs, and nearly 400 strike UAVs.

This ongoing aerial terror can be stopped, but it requires unity among our partners and long-range capabilities to save Ukrainian lives. At the upcoming Ramstein meeting next week, we will continue our efforts with our partners.
