Russian casualty toll in Ukraine rises to 685,910: report

Around 685,910 Russian troops have been either killed or wounded in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February 2022, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 9,097 tanks, 18,287 armoured fighting vehicles and 19,753 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday, Ukrainian forces killed or wounded 1,630 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 1,238 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 982 air defence systems, 369 warplanes, 329 helicopters, 28 warships, and 17,670 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Friday is day 975 of Russias war on Ukraine.
