Nine killed, 34 injured in latest Russian attacks on Ukraine

A series of Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past 24 hours has left nine people dead and 34 injured, according to Ukrainian officials.

Three people were killed and seven others injured in southern Ukraine’s Kherson region, where Russian strikes hit a post office and damaged 18 residential buildings, including a high-rise building, said regional military administration head Oleksandr Prokudin.

On Friday evening, a missile strike on the city of Dnipro in central-eastern Ukraine killed three and injured 19 others, including four children, local officials reported.

In Kyiv, one person was killed and six injured during a drone strike on one of the city’s districts, according to Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv’s military administration.

Further attacks on Kyiv’s surrounding region left a 56-year-old woman dead and lightly injured a 13-year-old boy, officials added.

In the northeastern Kharkiv region, a 61-year-old woman was killed in the village of Borova, reported Oleh Syniehubov, the head of Kharkiv’s regional authorities.

Separately, an attack on the eastern village of Donecke in the Donetsk region left one resident injured, said regional official Vadym Filashkin.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office said on Saturday that 583 children have been killed and more than 2,238 injured since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
