Brink's resignation has been linked to growing tensions between her and the Trump administration's policy on Ukraine.

According to reports from Financial Times, senior officials in the Trump administration exerted increasing pressure on her, questioning her commitment to supporting the new U.S. strategy on Ukraine.

This strategy differs from the one pursued by the Biden administration, under which Brink had been appointed to her position at the start of the war and had supported Ukraine with military aid.

Ukrainian media noted a shift in Brink's rhetoric after Trump took office, with criticism directed at her for not labeling Russia as responsible for a recent missile attack on Kryvyi Rih.
