The Polish prime minister made the declaration in Lviv, western Ukraine, on Tuesday, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s polskieradio24.pl website reported.
Visiting injured soldiers and civilians in a local hospital, Morawiecki told the media: “We are admitting and treating wounded soldiers from Ukraine.”
He added: “We are ready to admit up to 10,000 troops if necessary,” voicing hope that “the toll of the war won’t be as terrible as that.”
‘Polish hospitals are ready’
“We’ll do everything we can to welcome and treat all injured soldiers from Ukraine,” Morawiecki pledged.
He also stated: “Our hospitals are ready, and wounded soldiers are already being treated in Poland.”
He added, as quoted by polskieradio24.pl: "Hopefully, they will all recover, hopefully they will all return to their homes, to their children."
Morawiecki revealed that "dozens of Ukrainian troops" were being treated around Poland for various injuries.
“We are doing everything to save their lives and health,” he told reporters.

Morawiecki's words on Tuesday came after he last week confirmed that Ukrainian soldiers were being treated for war injuries in Poland.
At the time, Morawiecki said the wounded Ukrainian troops had arrived “from the frontlines" of their country's "struggle against the Russian invasion," including the capital Kyiv, the cities of Kharkiv and Sumy in northern Ukraine, Donbas in the east, and Mariupol and Kherson in the south.
While in Lviv on Tuesday, Morawiecki also launched a Polish project to build temporary housing centres for Ukraine’s internal refugees, polskieradio24.pl reported.
Tuesday was day 55 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Poland on Tuesday reported it had welcomed nearly 2.84 million refugees fleeing Russia's attack on Ukraine.
