The decision was announced by the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on Monday, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

The sale includes ninety-three (93) Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Battle Command System (IBCS) Engagement Operation Centers (EOCs) and one hundred seventy-five (175) IBCS Integrated Fire Control Network (IFCN) relays, among other equipment, according to officials.

This equipment represents key components of an integrated air and missile defence system being developed by Poland, and which already includes the US-made Patriot  launchers, the PAP news agency reported.

The sale would represent another step towards the creation of this system, according to officials.

Last week, Poland’s Ministry of Defence ordered 48 new batteries of the US-made  Patriot medium-range air defence system, 12 Lower-Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensors (LTAMDS) and a stock of PAC-3 MSE air defence missiles, the PAP news agency reported.

Tuesday is day 566 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
