The minimum wage in the country will increase to PLN 4,242 (EUR 920, USD 980) a month from January, followed by a further hike to PLN 4,300 (EUR 930, USD 990) from July 1, 2024, Morawiecki told a news conference, confirming an earlier announcement.
Meanwhile, the minimum hourly rate is set to go up to PLN 27.70 (EUR 6, USD 6.40) effective January 1 and PLN 28.10 (EUR 6.10, USD 6.50) as of July 1, 2024, he said.
The country’s minimum monthly wage rose to PLN 3,490 at the start of this year, from PLN 3,010 at the end of 2022.
Meanwhile, the minimum hourly rate in Poland is currently set at PLN 22.80, up from PLN 19.60 at the end of last year.
The average gross Polish monthly wage in July was PLN PLN 7,485.12, the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency announced last month.
