"During my meeting with Poland’s Sejm Marshal Szymon Hołownia, we discussed the frontline situation and Russia’s ongoing aerial terror," Zelensky said in an X post.

"We also talked about cooperation to protect Ukrainian skies," he added.

"Separately, we reviewed the Global Peace Summit outcomes and preparations for signing a bilateral security agreement," Zelensky also said.

"We appreciate Poland's advocacy for Ukraine's EU membership and are grateful for its comprehensive assistance to our country," he stated.

During his visit to Kyiv, Hołownia addressed Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada.

In his speech, he "underscored that Poland stands against the oppressive Russian regime murdering the Ukrainian spirit, trampling on human life and the sovereignty of the state, deciding which nation has the right to exist and which does not," according to his office.

Hołownia "emphasized that Poland does not accept any actions aimed at human rights, any attempts to question the existence of nations, or genocidal imperial practices," his office said.

At the seat of the Ukrainian parliament, Hołownia met with Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk to discuss the two countries' "joint fight against hybrid threats," and "support for Ukraine on its path to accession to the EU and NATO," according to the Polish parliamentary office.

While in Kyiv on Wednesday, Hołownia laid flowers at the Wall of Remembrance for the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine in the Russo-Ukrainian War, together with Verkhovna Rada Deputy Speaker Olena Kondratiuk, officials said.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Wednesday is day 847 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
