The team, comprising more than a dozen specialists, will focus primarily on detecting explosives and preventing potential terrorist acts, according to Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

"This is important allied support for France. The French Minister of National Defense expressed his gratitude, and I will be meeting with him on Monday during the Weimar Triangle summit of defense ministers. This meeting, dedicated to defense, will highlight our efforts to make the Olympic Games in Paris as safe as possible," Kosiniak-Kamysz said.

On Monday in Paris, the defense ministers of Poland, France, and Germany will discuss the current security situation in Europe, over two years after the Russian assault on Ukraine, and the related threats to other countries in the region. The meeting will also focus on further cooperation within NATO and the Weimar Triangle.

The Paris Olympic Games are set to begin on Wednesday and will run until August 11, while the Paralympics will take place from August 28 to September 8.
