Radio Poland's Marcin Matuszewski has more details on the latest Polish defense projects in his audio report - available in our player (red button above and on the left).

Addressing media reports about potential defense spending cuts of around PLN 57 billion from 2025-2028, Tomczyk clarified that no such cuts are planned. "The documents approved by the Minister of National Defense do not include any cuts in material plans. The budget for next year will be higher, not lower. It will be the highest in history, about 10 percent higher than in 2024, and will also be higher relative to GDP," he emphasized.

Tomczyk projected that the MON budget for 2025 will be around PLN 115-120 billion, supplemented by the Armed Forces Support Fund, amounting to several tens of billions. "These are enormous sums made possible by Polish taxpayers," he added.

He also mentioned the NATO anti-missile base in Redzikowo in northern Poland. "We have a fully operational NATO base in Poland, integrated into the NATO system. This is a significant step forward, showing that Poland is part of the NATO and American defense systems, making our country safer," Tomczyk said.
