'Pathostreaming' stands for live streaming of content which includes pathological behaviors, such as cruelty, bullying, and various other forms of violence, often mixed with sexual activities.
This sort of streaming has become popular among Poland’s youth and is believed to be a profitable business, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
According to PAP, research also shows that a fair chunk of their audience is children.
Zagórski said that the process of tackling the issue should start with “self-regulation so that video-sharing platforms that enable pathostreaming begin to limit access to this type of content. At the same time, we aim to form a group that will work on legal regulations.”
