Polish air carrier suspends flights to Beijing until April 25

Polish national air carrier LOT has said it is extending a suspension of flights from Warsaw to Beijing until April 25 amid falling passenger demand as China struggles with a coronavirus outbreak.

The Polish airline also announced it was suspending flights between the Hungarian capital Budapest and Seoul in South Korea until April 8.

LOT originally suspended flights to Beijing until February 9, then prolonged the suspension.

Poland’s health minister announced on Wednesday that the first case of coronavirus infection has been confirmed in this country.

The Covid-19 virus, which originated in Wuhan, China, has killed around 3,300 people and infected more than 95,000 around the world.
