Speaking to the private radio station RMF FM, Zbigniew Rau stated that the ministry would next week issue a directive pertaining to overseas voting districts.

"I also want to stress that in these elections, we are going to set more than 400 polling stations abroad. In the previous elections, there were only 320," Rau said.

Rau added that an electronic voting system will be activated late September to “allow, until October 10, the registration of all Polish citizens abroad who are ready to vote in the upcoming elections."

Rau also called on Polish missions abroad to communicate whether they require additional personnel for the smooth conduct of the elections.

Poles will head to the ballot box on October 15 to elect 460 new MPs and 100 senators for a four-year term.

Last month, Poland's lawmakers approved a government plan to combine the parliamentary elections with a nationwide referendum on issues including illegal migration.
