During the night of September 29-30, 2024, around 2:30 a.m., a fire broke out in seven apartments of a multi-family building in Radunica, northern Poland.
Before emergency services arrived, 19 people had been evacuated. Eleven fire brigades were on the scene, and after extinguishing the fire, they began dismantling the building's roof.
Earlier on Sunday, around 5:00 p.m. in Piotrków Trybunalski, central Poland, a massive fire erupted at a local waste disposal site. Paper and plastics caught fire inside the sorting hall.
A chemical rescue team was called in, and nearby streets were closed off. Residents received emergency alerts via text message from the Government Security Center (RCB), urging them to keep their windows closed.
Over 100 firefighters and specialized equipment were deployed to fight the blaze. No dangerous chemicals were detected, and no one was injured.
The fire affected an area of approximately 6,000 square meters.
