The State Department's spokesperson Vedant Patel made the statement at a press briefing in Washington.
Earlier on Monday, Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk travelled to Kyiv for talks with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
Tusk declared that "Poland will do everything to boost Ukraine's chances of winning the war with Russia," including finance weapons purchases for Kyiv.
Asked about the Polish prime minister's visit in Ukraine, the spokesman for the US State Department said Washington welcomed "our Polish allies taking steps" to "continue to support our Ukrainian partners."
Patel added Poland's move was "important" in showing that not only America, but also other countries had taken "intense steps over the past two years to support our Ukrainian partners."
The US official stressed it was "imperative that Congress act as swiftly as possible" to approve President Joe Biden's USD 61 billion package of further military support for Ukraine.
Tuesday is day 699 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.
