'We both believe in lifting people up': Harris and Walz launch joint campaign

Kamala Harris and her newly selected running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, kicked off their initial campaign together in Philadelphia on Tuesday, embarking on an multi-day tour across crucial swing states to introduce Walz to wider national electorate, according to Reuters.

Reuters reported that, addressing an enthusiastic crowd of ower 10,000 at Temple University, Walz spoke about his background growing up in a small Nebraska town, his 24 years of service in the Army National Guard, and his previous work as a high school social studies teacher and football couch.

„As a governor, coach, teacher, and veteran, he’s delivered for working families like his,” Kamala Harris said in her decription of Tim Walz.

„Coach Walz and I may come from different corners of our great country, but we share the same values. We both believe in lifting people up, not knocking them down,” assured the Democratic presidential candidate.

Joe Biden praised Kamala Harris’s decision to choose Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, highlighting Walz’s experience and leadership as a former soldier, educator, and politician.

President Biden called on all Americans who value freedom, democracy, and global leadership to suport the Harris-Walz ticket, recognizing it as a strong advocate for working people and the middle class.
