Stefanchuk announced that Kuleba’s resignation will be considered at the next session of the Verkhovna Rada.

While the reasons for Kuleba’s resignation remain unclear, media have speculated that Andriy Sybiha, a former aide to President Zelensky, might be his successor, according to the Polish portal tvn24.pl.

The Ukrainian Parliament received a letter from Minister Kuleba announcing his resignation, which was also posted on social media.

Reuters reports that Parliament is anticipated to vote on the resignations later on Wednesday, a process typically seen as a mere formality.

Dmytro Kuleba began his career at the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2003, introducing innovations such as "digital diplomacy" and "strategic communication," and became Ukraine's Foreign Minister in 2020 after serving as the country’s permanent representative to the Council of Europe and as Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.

Ukrainian government reshuffle ahead of autumn

The Ukrainian government has undergone significant personnel changes, which President Volodymyr Zelensky justified as necessary for reforms in both domestic and foreign policy.

The Ministers of Strategic Industries (Oleksandr Kamyshin), Environment (Ruslan Strilets), and Justice (Denys Maliuska), as well as the Minister for the Reintegration of Occupied Territories (Iryna Vereshchuk), have all been removed from their positions, along with Rostyslav Shurma, a deputy head in President Zelensky’s office.

President Zelensky explained these changes as essential for strengthening the government ahead of an important autumn period.

According to David Arakhamia, a senior lawmaker for Zelenskiy's party, further resignations are expected, possibly affecting up to half of the cabinet.
