Initially, Trump was scheduled to attend the ceremony at the National Shrine of Our Lady, popularly known as the American Częstochowa, at the same time as President Andrzej Duda, who was set to participate in the unveiling of a monument dedicated to Polish independence fighters after 1945.

The sanctuary’s spokesperson verified that preparations for Trump’s visit were in early stages, but no official confirmation had been issued. While Trump was expected to be a guest, his visit was ultimately canceled, likely due to logistical and organizational issues.

Antoniak noted that, despite invitations sent to both presidential campaigns, Trump did not confirm his visit in time.

The earlier reports by the Polish state news agency PAP suggesting a potential meeting between President Duda and Trump on September 22 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, have not materialized.

The Polish President’s office stated that it is not organizing this meeting.

President Duda’s U.S. visit, starting September 21, will include participation in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

On the ocasion of the 85th anniversary of the Soviet aggression against Poland, hich falls on Tuesday, September 17, Andrzej Duda laid a wreath at the Monument to the Fallen and Murdered in the East.
