Key topics discussed at the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting, in which Sikorski took part, included sanctions against the pro-Russian ruling party in Georgia and EU support for Ukraine.
EU foreign ministers also discussed the integration of the Western Balkans and humanitarian aid for Syria.
Speaking to reporters about the EU's cooperation with the United States, Sikorski said: "With the prospect of a new administration taking power in the United States, we, as Europe, must step up even more."
The Polish foreign minister added that the new division of responsibilities must ensure that the EU and the United States can continue helping Ukraine achieve a better position in any potential future peace negotiations.
Sikorski also focused on the upcoming Polish presidency, which begins on January 1, 2025.
He said that Poland's proposal to return to the practice of sending groups of ministers to different regions of the world was well received.
