King Charles III to visit Poland for Auschwitz-Birkenau liberation commemoration

The official confirmation of King Charles III's visit to Poland for the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp liberation commemoration comes from Buckingham Palace, backing previous media reports.

"The King will attend a commemoration service at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Memorial in Poland, marking 80 years since the liberation of the former German Nazi concentration camp on 27th January 1945," the statement announced.

The monarch is also set to meet with President Andrzej Duda and residents of Krakow in southern Poland. This will be King Charles III's first visit to Poland as king, although he will be in the country for the fifth time.
