Based on the experience they gained, the Poles have drawn up a report with advice on treating Covid-19 patients in Poland.
The document is to be published after Easter but has already been sent to Polish Health Minister Łukasz Szumowski.
“I have already listened to the preliminary conclusions of this report. We are implementing them,” Szumowski said.
The Polish team - doctors from the Military Medical Institute in Warsaw and paramedics from the Polish Center for International Aid - worked in a hospital in the city of Brescia in the northern Italian region of Lombardy, which is among the areas with the highest number of coronavirus infections and deaths.
Over 18,000 people have died of the Covid-19 disease in Italy, while around 143,000 have been infected, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
In Poland, 5,575 people have tested positive for COVID-19, with 174 deaths from the coronavirus, officials said on Thursday afternoon.
