Zbigniew Rau and Antony Blinken spoke at the request of Washington, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

According to the Polish foreign ministry, the conversation focused on “the assessment of the security situation in the region and further coordination of action on military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, which is defending itself against Russia’s unprovoked and illegal aggression.”

Meanwhile, the US state department spokesperson Ned Price said that Rau and Blinken “discussed the importance of continued close collaboration in the global response to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.”

“The Secretary thanked Poland for its sustained security assistance and humanitarian support to Ukraine and its generosity in hosting millions of refugees from Ukraine,” Price added.

“The Secretary also discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation on civil nuclear power generation in Poland to advance shared energy security, climate change, and national security objectives,” the spokesperson said.

Thursday is day 197 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
