The 61-year-old leader of the Labour Party, after winning the parliamentary elections, assumed the position of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Keir Starmer is the 58th person in this position and is to replace Rishi Sunak. The Labour Party won a total of 412 seats. Such a result is the second strongest in the history of Labour.
"Dear Prime Minister Keir Starmer, congratulations on your truly great victory. I deeply believe that together we will do a lot of good for the UK, for Poland, for Europe, and for the free world," Donald Tusk wrote on x.com, expressing hope for fruitful international cooperation between Poland and the United Kingdom.
As Sir Keir Starmer assumed both the role of Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury, he convened with King Charles to form a new government.
