Poland supports a two‑state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, rejecting U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent proposal regarding Gaza, Polish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrzej Szejna said on Wednesday.

During a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, Trump suggested that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip be resettled in neighboring Arab countries, which would finance housing projects to create “unlimited numbers of jobs.”

He further claimed that the United States would “take over” Gaza, leveling the territory as part of a redevelopment plan.

Speaking on RMF FM, Szejna stressed that Poland’s position, consistent with decades of United Nations resolutions, is that the future of Palestine must be decided by the Palestinians.

“We support the recognition of a two‑state solution, including the state of Palestine. Just as we say that one cannot decide on Ukraine without Ukraine, so too can we not decide on Palestine without the Palestinians,” he said.

While Szejna acknowledged Trump’s ability to rapidly secure a ceasefire—with the previous administration achieving a suspension of hostilities—he emphasized that further dialogue should include views from the Gulf countries as well as direct input from Palestine and the Palestinian people, with whom Poland maintains diplomatic contacts.
