The Polish Prime Minister confirmed that while Poland does not plan to send troops to Ukraine, the country will provide logistical and political support to nations that choose to do so.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk will attend an informal summit in Paris hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, focused on U.S. policy regarding peace negotiations for the war in Ukraine.

Before his departure, Tusk emphasized that while Poland does not plan to send troops to Ukraine, it will support countries that decide to do so, underlining the importance of cooperation with the U.S., the EU, and NATO for European security.

"Poland will continue its security cooperation with the European Union, key European allies such as the United Kingdom and Norway, and, above all, the United States" – wrote Donald Tusk.

„If we, Europeans, fail to spend big on defence now, we will be forced to spend 10 times more if we don’t prevent a wider war. As the Polish PM I’m entitled to say it loud and clear, since Poland already spends almost 5% of its GDP on defence. And we will continue to do so,” the head of the Polish government pointed out through social media.

PM Tusk also warned against creating a competitive narrative between the EU and the U.S., stressing the need for decisions on defense capabilities and logistics.

Tusk reiterated that Europe must immediately strengthen its defense capacity to provide real guarantees for Ukraine's future.

"I will once again urge our European partners and allies to take immediate, large-scale action focusing on funding, logistics, and political decisions to strengthen Europe's defence capabilities," the politician declared.

According to the Prime Minister's Office, the meeting in Paris on February 17 will also include representatives from the governments of Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and Denmark, along with the President of the European Council, the President of the European Commission, and the NATO Secretary General.
