Poland had EU’s third lowest consumer price levels in 2021: Eurostat

Poland had European Union’s third lowest price levels for consumer goods and services in 2021, at 60 per cent of the bloc’s average, Eurostat has reported.

According to the bloc’s statistics agency, price levels for consumer goods and services in 2021 ranged widely across the EU.

Denmark and Ireland had the highest price levels, with 140% of the EU average, followed by Luxembourg (132%), Sweden (128%) and Finland (126%).

Romania and Bulgaria were found to have had the lowest price levels (both 56%), followed by Poland (60%).

According to Eurostat, the price level for restaurants and hotels ranked first in terms of price difference, with prices in the most expensive country almost 340% higher than in the cheapest one.

Alcohol and tobacco recorded second highest difference. The bloc’s lowest levels were found in Bulgaria (64%), Poland (72%) and Hungary (79%). EU member states with the highest prices for alcohol and tobacco were Ireland (205%), Finland (173%) and Sweden (136%).
