The opening marks the completion of two years of construction and development.

The ceremony on Tuesday was attended by key figures such as Andrzej Dybczyński, head of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, and Paweł Stężycki, director of the Warsaw Institute of Aviation.

Over a hundred participants, including decision makers from the space industry, administration and military from Poland, Europe and the United States, attended the event, representing ArianeGroup, Nammo, Airbus Space & Defence, Thales Alenia Space, The Exploration Company and other industry leaders.

The center occupies more than 1,000 square meters and includes specialized laboratories for rocket propulsion and satellite technologies. It is equipped with facilities for testing rocket engines, and contains areas such as chemical and environmental laboratories and space for satellites and correctional propulsion systems.

The main focus of the center is the development and testing of technologies related to rocket propulsion and satellites. Paweł Stężycki, director of the Warsaw Institute of Aviation, emphasized the role of the new facilities in enhancing the capabilities of the institute and meeting the needs of the national and European space market.

A panel discussion entitled "Green propulsion for in-space logistics - challenges and opportunities" was also part of the opening ceremony. The discussion included participants from various space agencies and companies and focused on ecological solutions in the space sector.

As part of the day's proceedings, an agreement emphasizing collaboration and partnership in future initiatives was signed between the institute and The Exploration Company, represented by Hélène Huby, its founder and director general.

The center has received funding from the Regional Operational Program of Poland's Mazowieckie Voivodeship for 2014-2020 and is expected to play a crucial role in advancing research projects and tests in the field of space technology.
