"Good news: EU member states have approved agreements for Norwegian funds until 2028," Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz announced via social media.

"Of the 4 PLN billion allocated to Poland, PLN 400 million will go to NGOs in our country," she added.

"The decision is seven months late due to Hungary's stance, which did not want to allow independent financing for its civic organizations," Pełczyńska-Nałęcz also said.

"Hungary eventually relented under pressure, including from Poland," she stated.

She declared that "the funds will be allocated transparently and apolitically."

The Norway Grants are financed by Norway and available in the 13 EU member countries that joined the bloc in 2004, 2007 and 2013.
