A new regulation will introduce a 0% VAT rate on donations for flood victims. This zero VAT will apply to both goods, such as food and clothing, and services, including accommodation and the rental of generators.

The regulation will take effect on September 18 and apply to donations made from September 12 to December 31, 2024, reflecting the impact of the initial heavy rains and flooding.

In response to the flood's significant damage and loss of homes, the Ministry of Finance has announced this zero VAT policy for donations to support affected individuals.

The tax relief will cover donations made through public benefit organizations, local authorities, medical entities, and the Government Strategic Reserves Agency.

Additionally, in response to the flood situation, the Ministry of Infrastructure has announced support for humanitarian transport.

Vehicles over 3.5 tons will be exempt from toll charges on national roads under the e-toll system.
