There were around 771,000 people without jobs across the nation at the end of September, down by 1,300 from a month earlier, according to the government.
The state-run Statistics Poland agency (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate had stayed flat at 5 percent in August, unchanged from July.
Meanwhile, the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated this month that unemployment in Poland stood at 2.9 percent in August, marking the second-lowest rate in the 27-nation bloc.
