BALANCE Is (EU) agriculture dying?

The European Union farmers, including Poles, have protested  against the bloc’s planned trade agreement with the Mercosur countries, arguing it would cause even more price competition through an inflow of cheaper produce from South America. If ratified, the EU-Mercosur deal would cover a market of almost 10 percent of the world’s population and almost 20 percent of the world’s GDP.
