The new facility, located in the southern Polish city of Katowice, is Orlen’s second hydrogen station in Poland, following the launch of one in the western city of Poznań earlier this year.
The Katowice station expands Orlen's Central European network, which also includes two sites in the Czech Republic.
Equipped with two dispensers, the new facility serves passenger cars, buses and trucks. It has the capacity to refuel up to 20 buses and five passenger cars daily.
Orlen’s Poznań station, which opened in June, supports private motorists as well as a fleet of 25 hydrogen-powered city buses.
The company plans to further expand its hydrogen refuelling network across Poland, with new stations slated for cities including Warsaw, Kraków and Gdynia.
By 2030, Orlen aims to establish an international network of over 100 hydrogen refuelling stations spanning Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
