The first deliveries are expected in 2027. The Toulouse-based manufacturer will initially provide 40 aircraft, with an option to nearly double the order in the future.
The deal marks a shift in LOT’s fleet strategy, as the airline currently operates 86 planes from Embraer and Boeing.
Embraer’s next-generation E-195 was also in the running but ultimately lost to Airbus.

Record-breaking contract for Poland's national airline
Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, announced via social media that this deal represents the largest contract in the history of Poland’s national airline. Under the agreement with Airbus, LOT will initially receive 40 new aircraft.
The minister highlighted that if the option to acquire an additional 44 planes is exercised, the airline’s current fleet will effectively double in size.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, commenting on the landmark deal for the country's national airline, emphasized that Poland is becoming a leading force in European air transport.
